A modernist masia surrounded by almond fields
Mas Passamaner is a modernist masia from 1922, the work of the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, in La Selva del Camp, in the Baix Camp near Tarragona. It has been restored and is now a boutique hotel surrounded by fields. It has 13 double rooms, 9 modernist suites and 2 design villas, a restaurant with local products and a spa with a water circuit and an indoor pool. From the rooms you look over the Camp de Tarragona, with the Mediterranean in the distance, or over the almond fields and the mountains.
Weddings use the gardens and a few separate rooms. The Invernadero is a modern glass building between two gardens, surrounded by lemon trees. It seats 264 for a banquet and has a sound booth and a large outdoor area for the cocktail. La Era is a smaller room with a glass wall surrounded by ivy, inside the garden, for intimate ceremonies or a banquet of up to 48. The two gardens can be used for outdoor banquets, aperitifs or civil ceremonies. In the main building, the Library keeps its original modernist furniture and has a table for about ten people.
The hotel cooks for the wedding itself, and each menu is made to measure. Weddings, company events and private parties are offered as separate services, with a sales team that arranges a visit.
For your photos
The Invernadero opens onto a garden with lemon trees, so the cocktail and part of your portraits can happen just outside, in soft light late in the day. La Era has a large glass wall surrounded by ivy, which gives a bright green background for a small ceremony. Glass rooms can get warm in summer, so ask how they are cooled and plan the ceremony after 18:00 in July and August.
The modernist main building and its library are good places for portraits indoors, so ask in advance whether you can use them. If you want the view over the Camp de Tarragona, ask which terraces look that way. Keep 45 to 60 minutes for your couple portraits.
