A finca with gardens and old wine cellars near Tarragona
Mas La Boella is a finca in La Canonja, near Tarragona, on the Costa Dorada. Its origin goes back to the 12th century, and a manuscript dated 7 March 1150 records a medieval donation of this land. The finca has been fully restored. It now has a 4-star boutique hotel with 13 suites in two buildings, the Mas Vell and the Mas Nou, a restaurant called Espai Fortuny and large gardens. It is less than one hour from Barcelona and 10 minutes by car from Reus airport.
There are several places for the ceremony, the aperitif and the banquet. El Bosquet is a small garden surrounded by trees, described for intimate outdoor ceremonies. The Patio de los Arqueros is a courtyard with ivy on its walls and a large wooden gate, used for events from a civil wedding to a concert. For the banquet you can eat outdoors in the gardens, in the Gran Pabellón, a hall for 550 seated guests that opens onto the garden, or in the Salones Sant Jordi, three connected rooms in the old wine cellars of the finca, for 180.
During the banquet you have a private room near the Gran Pabellón, and another large room to get ready in the hours before. You can rent the hotel exclusively, and your guests then sleep in the 13 suites. The team does not offer a wedding planner service, but it advises you on the services you need.

The gardens are the main place for portraits and the aperitif, and El Bosquet gives you shade from its trees for a small ceremony. In July and August choose a late afternoon ceremony, because the middle of the day is hot in the Tarragona area. The Patio de los Arqueros, with its ivy and wooden gate, is a good background for portraits when you want something more compact than the gardens.
The Gran Pabellón has a wooden ceiling and opens to the garden, so it is a practical plan for rain. Ask how the ceremony would be moved, and keep 45 to 60 minutes for your couple portraits.
