A celebrant for ceremonies in several languages
Jaume’s Weddings is the wedding celebrant service of Jaume, who has led ceremonies in Spain, mainly in Catalonia. His website presents humanist wedding ceremonies made to measure: each script starts from scratch with the couple’s wishes, feelings and personalities, and the couple chooses and decides what the ceremony contains. The site also offers ideas and examples for readings and vows, and pages on baby naming and other rituals.
Jaume works in Spanish, Catalan and English, and often combines them in the same ceremony. He has also officiated in French, Swedish and Mandarin, and mentions Dutch, Russian and Greek in some ceremonies. He coordinates directly with the other wedding professionals, and during the ceremony he tells the couple what to do and when.
Working together
Jaume led the ceremony at Mercedes and Jay’s wedding at Can Borrell, a modernist estate in Castellar del Vallès, on 30 May 2024. They are an American couple who chose an intimate wedding with their close family. You can see the full gallery or read the story.
The ceremony took place outdoors, with the family seated on the lawn in front of the estate’s brick arches. We photographed the whole day, from the first preparations to the last family portraits: the quiet moments before the ceremony, the ceremony itself, the minutes right after it and a portrait session around the estate.
